Welcome to DJStrickBiz.com, thank you for visiting my site!
Ahhh...the middle of May. Sunshine, longer days and the beginning of summer madness. My favorite time of the year!!! What better way to kick off the start of the season than with a new mix of the sexiest, deepest, funkiest House music on the radar? It's gonna be a long, hot summer. Prepare accordingly my friends...
First off, if you don't have Part 1, get it now!!!
DJ Strick Biz Presents – Strickly Deep: Live From The Winter Music Conference 2010 [Part 2] brings you more Deep, Soulful House heat direct from the dancefloors of the Winter Music Conference 2010.
I did my best to hit ALL of the 5-zillion parties that went down in Sobe/Miami during WMC week. As hard as I tried, I was only able to get to about 30, lol.
Great people, good vibes and AMAZING music! The tracks on Part 2 are just an extension of Part 1 - not a comprehensive list, just a few of the newest and hottest Deep, Soulful jammies that ROCKED the parties of WMC2010! Ahhh...until next year...
In late March for the past 25 years, artists, producers, dj's, labels, promoters, club owners and fans from across the globe have descended upon Miami - turning it into the epicenter of the Dance Music world. This year was no different. I was in Miami last week for the 25th Anniversary of the Winter Music Conference. I had an absolute blast: met a lot of great people, made some new friends and heard a bunch of AMAZING music!
Allow me to introduce DJ Strick Biz Presents - Strickly Deep: Live From The Winter Music Conference 2010, a two-part mixtape collection of future deep house classics inspired by the dj's, artists and events of my trip to WMC2010. Enjoy...house music all night long...
It's that time of year again! I'll be in Miami this week for the Winter Music Conference. Congrats to the WMC team - this year is the 25th anniversary of the conference! WMC has been around longer than some of the delegates! If you're in Miami this week - shoot me a tweet.
Spring is officially here...ahhh YEAH! Perfect timing for unveiling my new website and MySpace redesign. I opted for the less is more, grown and sexy look, lol. Thanks to my girl Paige White (hands down the best photographer in Dallas) for the pics.
Strictly for my 80's babies...I just HAD to do a throwback Club mix. Don't front - if you were hitting the clubs in the early 90's, without a doubt, you were partying to this music. I remember dj'ing when a lot of these records were new. It's been a MINUTE since I've played a couple of these joints. I actually had to dig in my crates and rip a couple of these songs from vinyl this week (all of the music I spin with is in Serato, a computer program that most dj's use now).
This list is not comprehensive in any way - just a bunch of Club classics from the early to mid 90's that I had a lot of fun playing when they were new. And for my 90's babies, this is a great opportunity to learn about some really great music.
2009 is almost outta here my good people. It's time to get focused for New Years Eve! So, to assist with your preparation for an evening of egregious overindulgence, I'm getting you right with a brand new mixtape. Nothing bangs quite like old school classics. So while you're in your car on the way to the mall for a new outfit or stuck at your desk slaving away in front of a computer screen, if you have access to an iPod or iTunes - grab my latest mix and get a little taste of the party a few days early.
2009 flew by soooo fast. Can't believe I'm putting together a Best of 2009 mix already! There were so, so many great records that came out this year and it made it really hard to choose the top 20 Deep House songs of 2009. I struggled for the last two weeks making my decisions. You can checkout my year-end, Deep House Top 20 For 2009 chart here. Please note that this was NOT mixed in a particular order. Here's to a great 2010!!!
Ultra classic material for all of my 80's babies! Featuring hits from Bobby Brown, Bell Biv Devoe, Guy and Levert - every track was a certified SMASH when it was out. With so many hits to choose from, putting a mix like this together is no easy feat. I finally threw in the towel, picked a handful of my faves and will resort to Volume 2 to fill out the selection.
